We’ll play it straight with you: most pool builders in Oklahoma City do good work. These production pool installers can be extremely efficient at producing a standard pool.
However, what they produce – the same five to ten pre-fabricated pool shapes and straight-out-of-the-box water features – might not be what you’re looking for. To find a firm with the skills to sculpt custom basin shapes and build grottos and water features, you’ll need a design-build pool builder.

Enhancements to Your Custom Swimming Pool
After just one conversation with Donnie, you’ll understand he’s an artist and master craftsman, using concrete like clay to communicate an architectural vision. Even if a pool isn’t the right choice at present, grottos and water features can be built as stand-alone architectural features on your property.
Grottos
Beautifully sculpted concrete formations, integrated into the pool’s design and structure. Often features waterfalls or swim-throughs.
Water Features
Options include waterfalls, sheer descents, bubblers, deck jets and astonishing fire-and-water combinations.
Dipping Pools
Smaller plunge zones that can attach to the main pool or exist standalone.
Ledges
Jumping or tanning ledges can add function, as well as visual interest and depth.

Phone Call
After you fill out the form or call us at 405-650-5654, we’ll talk with you about the ideas for your project. We’ll discuss the scope of your project and whether we’re a good fit for your needs. After that, we’ll schedule the consultation.
Free On-Site Consultation
Donnie will explore your site and chat with you about your vision for the space, identifying any challenges that may arise during the build. In this discussion, you’ll discuss a ballpark estimate for your project, which is why Donnie does not provide remote bids.
On-Site Sketch
You’ll be provided a drawing of your project before receiving your proposal. Additionally, you can request a 3D rendering of your project (for an additional fee).
Itemized Proposal
At this stage, you’ll receive a finalized proposal with every cost broken out. After signing and making a deposit payment, construction can start.
Build
Donnie and Foreman Laraka manage your project’s build.
Final Walkthrough & Handoff
Upon completion, Donnie will perform a walkthrough with you, explain your maintenance needs, and provide your warranty documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between a custom pool and a production pool?
A production pool is built from a small set of template designs that the builder repeats across every project – typically rectangular, fixed dimensions, limited finish options. A custom pool is designed from scratch around your property, with shape, depth, finishes, and integrated features all chosen by you. ADC builds custom pools exclusively.
How much does a custom pool cost in Oklahoma?
Custom pools have no flat-rate pricing – every project is unique. Cost depends on size, shape complexity, integrated features (grottos, water features, jumping ledges), finish materials, equipment package, and site conditions. ADC’s reference build runs $500K at the high end; many projects fall well below that. The free consultation produces the real number.
How long does pool construction take?
Most ADC custom pools take 4-12 weeks from break-ground to final walkthrough, depending on complexity. Natural swimming pools and pools with integrated grottos sit toward the longer end. Standard custom pools without complex features run 4-8 weeks. ADC confirms the timeline at the consultation and updates it weekly during the build.
Do you offer 3D renderings of the pool design?
Yes – for complex projects we offer detailed 3D rendering that visualizes the finished pool with grottos, water features, lighting, and surround. 3D rendering carries an additional design fee on top of the base proposal because of the design time and software involved. Most ADC clients use it for builds over $150K.
Can you integrate a pool with my retaining wall project?
Yes – and we recommend it on sloped sites. Designing the pool, retaining walls, and surrounding hardscape together produces better drainage, cleaner sight lines, and lower total cost than tackling them as separate projects. ADC designs and builds retaining walls, pools, and outdoor living as one integrated project.
Do you build natural swimming pools?
Yes – natural swimming pools are an ADC specialty. We have built them across the OKC metro for over a decade, including a $500K reference project that still draws international inbound interest. Do you build standard chlorinated pools?
Yes. While natural pools are our specialty, ADC also builds custom chlorinated and saltwater pools when that is what the project calls for. The design-build approach is the same – we sketch, render where helpful, and sculpt the structure to your property. The pool type is your call; we recommend based on your goals.
Who handles pool maintenance after the build?
ADC handles initial system orientation, equipment training, and warranty documentation at handoff. Ongoing chemical balancing, pump maintenance, and seasonal openings/closings are typically handled by specialist pool service firms – we can recommend providers in your area. Natural pool maintenance differs from chlorinated; we walk you through the rhythm at handoff.
